One of the most beautiful traditions in Spain is nativity scenes decoration in Christmas.

Thousands of homes, churches, monasteries and public buildings are decorated with magnificent Nativity scenes that each year are better and better.

At the begining of december my husband, children ad me walk through Madrid centre and stop by the market of figures for nativity scene that is in Plaza Mayor, we always buy a new figure for our Nativity scene and it gets bigger every year.

Back at home I take the box of  figures of the Nativity scene and decoration, the cottages, moss and sawdust and between my children and me we decide how we will implement this year the scene, the shepherds and the arrival of the Kings.

The House remains decorated until the end of Christmas.

If you visit Madrid this Christmas I suggest a visit to the Centre of Madrid to see some nativity scenes installed in churches and convents in the city.

You can visit a convent of closing that there is in the center of the city, a Baroque scene with great artistic value, another current scene by a Spanish craftsman and a great scene with light and sound that is being prepared since summer.

Tour Navidad.
